Chapter 114 - It's Hurts Just Like Hell To Let Go

Monica sat there on the Bongiovi porch and stared at her husband, "Do you really want me to leave?"she  asks under her breath, feeling his answer.

"Yes.  I'm not doing this all night."

"Don't you think that this is important, that we should talk about it?" she stands, then takes a step toward Jon.  He backs up, holding his hands up, not wanting her to get too close.  "Now you're pushing me away?"

"Just go home and get some sleep.  We can talk in the morning." he steps farther away from her, "This is going no where."

Monica is a little miffed and very shocked by his attitude, but she's just as tired as he is, mentally agreeing that she does need to go home and get some sleep.  "Come home with me." she asks, reaching for his arm.

"I'm going to stay here tonight.  We need to clam down and clear our heads.  We can talk tomorrow." he moves in close to her, watching her face go to total sadness.  It hurts his heart to see her sad, but he reminds himself that she's the one that kept the argument going, even after he left.  He gets close enough to her he's able to wrap his arms around her and pull her tight.  In his arms, she melts into him and he's almost overcome by the intense feeling of love that he has for this woman.  He never wants to let her go, although he can't hold and want a woman that believes he could have cheated on her as she laid in a hospital bed.  "You better get going.  The sun is going to be up soon."

Monica looks up at him and see the sadness that he is expression.  She can see that he's torn and that he's quite confused.  "Let's go home and deal with this like adults, Jon."

"I'm not going home with you tonight Monica. I came over her to stop the fight.  Going home with you will only fuel the fire."  he kisses the top of her head.  "Come on I'll walk you to the car."  With his arms around her, he gently guides her toward her car that's parked the wrong way on the street, driver side door wide open.

"When will you be home?" she walks with Jon, her head on his shoulder.

"In the morning."

The stop at her car.  Jon kisses his wife goodnight and waits for her to get in the car.  Once she's in, he closes the door and tells her to be safe and that he loves her.  Monica sits there and waits, what she's waiting for she isn't too sure - but she didn't think that he would just walks away.  He leaves her in the running car and goes into his mom and dads house.  Monica, with a heavy heart and tears rolling down her cheeks, she drives home alone.

The next morning Jon gets up and gets ready for a run.  As he bee bops down the stairs, he is greeted by his mother, standing there with a cup of coffee in her hand.  "Good morning son, what are you doing here?" she hands Jon the cup of coffee.

Jon kisses his mother on the cheek, "Good morning ma."  After a sip of the home brewed coffee that he grew up on, "Thanks."  He winks at her and holds up the cup of coffee that he appreciates more than his mother will ever know.

His mother follows him as he leads her into the kitchen.  He pulls out a chair, letting his mother take a seat,

Mrs. B looks up at her son, "Is everything okay, son?"

Jon nods, taking a seat next to his mother, "It will be."

"Why are you here?" she asks, having no idea when he even arrived.

"I slept here." he can't make eye contact with his mom.  He's having a hard time not being so hard on himself.  Morning clarity weighed pretty heavy on him and he's starting to feel bad for letting his wife go home alone.

"Why on earth did you sleep here?  Is Monica upstairs?" she asks, leaning in on the table, resting her hand on his forearm.  "What happened Jonny?"

Jon shakes his head, "I think I screwed up, ma.  I think I screwed up real bad."

"What on earth are you talking about.  Where is Monica?"   Jon can see that his mom is now concerned and he really doesn't want to tell her what's going on - but he's never kept anything from her.

With a deep breath, he starts to fill her in.  "I take it you didn't hear about
the radio interviewed that was on yesterday?"

"Nnnoo?  What interview?" she fires back quickly.

"One of Mon's Vegas nurses was on the radio here yesterday."

"For what?"

"She's telling stories that Monica heard and she believes them."

"What kind of stories?  Where is Monica?"  Mrs. B looks around to see if she can see anything that would tell her if Monica was upstairs, or anywhere in the house.  "What did this nurse have to say?"

Another deep breath, and s quick rub of the face, Jon adds, "She's saying that we had an affair while Monica was in her coma."

"That's bullshit."  Mrs. B is getting heated and can't believe what her son is telling her.

"She's also claiming to be pregnant and I'm the father."

"Are you kidding?" she blurts at him, "Who believes that bullshit?"

"Monica." he whispers, looking away.  He doesn't want his mother to see the hurt in his eyes.  "Monica believes it ma."

"Where is she?" she questions, "Is she here?"

"She's home."

"You spent the night here and she was home?"

Jon nods his head.

"Why are you still here?  You need to go home and clear this up."  she slams her hand on the table, "Jonny, you have to go home and work this out."

He gives his mother a little laugh, "I was about to walk out the door when you came downstairs."

"Go, go talk to her and settle this honey."

Jon does as he's told.  After a kiss and a thank you to his mom, he heads out the side door, in a run.  He was dressed for his morning jog, so what better way to get his run out of the way than to run home?
