Chapter 129

"Tell me about her."  Monica pleads, part of her wanting to fill the voids in her memory that are missing from before the accident.  "Tell me what I need to know."

She rests her head on her arm, laying across the table top.  "Tell me why she feels comfortable enough to call her at the ass crack of dawn and ell me how she got this phone number!"  Monica can feel herself getting a little upset, she can feel herself starting to feel a little violated.

Jon reaches over and takes her hand again, "There isn't anything that you need to know about her.  She's one of those types that aren't happy unless they are causing trouble or hurting someone."

"Why did you break up with her?"

"She cheated on me when I was on a family vacation, with a really good friend of mine."

"Why has she been quite all this time and now just coming out of the woodwork?" she asks, taking in a deep breath telling her self that everything will be okay.

"I'm guessing it's because she thinks there might be money involved or she just wants to create trouble, like she's good at."
"What do I do?"  Monica sits back in the chair, stretching her long arms with a small yawn, "Do I need to get a lawyer?"

"NO." he states, "You don't need to do anything, I'll take care of it."

"Not your problem, Jon." she's quick to fire back.  "She's going after my film and pictures I used, isn't that my fight?"

Jon and Monica spend their day doing what married couple do.  Together they cleaned their small house, did their little bit of laundry and when all of the inside was done - they made their way to the outside.  They made small talk, joked with each other and just enjoyed their day of down time.

Monica walked into the garage to get the lawn mover.  As she's knelt down checking the gas level int eh tank, she hears behind her, "Did you get my message?"  She startled, she was scared.  She turns around to see a woman that she has never seen before.  Or that she remembers, anyway.

"Excuse me?" she snaps, standing up wiping her hands on a rag.  "Who are you?"

With a laugh, Liz says, "You owe me alot of money."

Monica laughs in response to Liz's comment.  "I do?  I don't even know who you are."

"I'm the love of Jon's life."  she snaps, "the one that he'll never forget."

Monica can't help but laugh again, "Oh, you must be Liz."

"You know who I am, stop with the I don't know you act, Monica."

They're interrupted by the creak of the screen door that connects the house to the garage, "What the hell are you doing here?"  Jon barks as he bursts through the door, "Get the hell out of here."

Monica turns to face him, taking a step in front of him to stop him, "Hey, I got this."

"She needs to get the hell out of here."  he continues, "She's crazy."

"Hi Jon."  Liz smiles, "I take it you didn't give your wife my message."

Monica turns back around, he hand still on Jon's chest, stopping him from getting closer to Liz.  Monica can feel the rage in every beat of his heart.  "What message?"

"The one about you owing me money."  Liz states and waits.  "For using my face in your film."

Monica spins around on her heel to face her.  With one deep breath she tells her, "I don't owe you anything.  The images that I used are mine, taken at a public event."

"You're using my image for profit Monica, without my permission, that means you owe me money."

"Liz,"  Monica takes a step closer to her, "I don't owe you a dime."

"You might want to check the laws on that, Monica.  You're using my face to make money - that means you owe me a portion of what you're making."

Jon stands there and watches the back and forth between his wife and his ex girlfriend and with each word that they exchange, he gets more and more upset.  "Liz, she doesn't owe you a thing.  Had you taken a minute and checked into this whole film, you would have learned that there is no money being made on this."

"My film was made by me, for me.  Jon didn't commission me to do it, nor did the band.  And with that being said, you need to leave before I call the police and have you arrested for trespassing."

Liz was a little stunned by what Monica just said, she thought for sure that Monica would want to argue with her, defend herself and her film.  "You're still the bitch you were before your accident."  Liz huffs and decides to leave.
