Chapter 103 - Another Long And Sleepless Night

"I am so sorry babe, I forgot your birthday." he whispers in her ear as they settled in on the plane.  "I'll make it up to you when we get home."

Monica smiles as she leans into him, resting her head on his shoulder, "It's okay honey, I forgot it too.  It's really no big deal."

Jon feels like a fool, forgetting her birthday when they were in paradise, "I feel like an ass. I never forget important dates when you're concerned."

"Honey, it's fine.  Don't worry about it.  You can make it up to me at home."

The group settles in and they all are pretty tired.  Leaving the private island and heading back to civilization was tiring for all of them.  No one wanted to go back to reality, but work is work and contracts are binding.  The show must go on, as they have always said.

After being home for a day, winding down and settling in, Monica decides to go to her studio and work on some of the footage that she took while they were on the road.  She had it in her mindset that she was going to add vacation footage with the live footage and that's what she started to work on.  

Jon went into the city with her, the taxi dropped her at the studio and him to the Powerstation.  He needed to work some things out with Joe and book studio time so they could work on the new album, that is supposed to be released next year.  

Monica, watching several reels and tapes of video in slow motion notices a strange person in alot of footage that she has know idea who it is.  She rewinds and replays several frames trying to get a read on who this guy is.  She has never seen him before but she notices that he is at several shows, standing in the shadows talking or interacting with no one.  She was able to capture a few screens and print some pictures to show Jon, because now she's concerned. 

 After a few hours of messing with that, she went on with editing, cutting and pasting putting together the documentary that they were going to release, prior to the next album.  

The footage that she was watching made her smile.  She's proud that she was able to catch the essence of the men as a band and mostly as friends.  The antics backstage make her laugh as she watches it, just as much as she did as she witnessed it.  Jon and the guys are brothers and it's evident in the video.  And to any outsider, they could easily see that they are brothers, best friends and band mates, with Jon being papa bear.  

She cuts some more footage and pastes it with strips from others shows.  She decided to jump from show to show, to show the fans and the management company that night after night they give the crowd what they paid for.  The tour was long and he footage is plentiful's her goal so it's her goal to put together a documentary that will start a trend.  

She goes from rocking with RATT, to acoustic songs at shows and then to rocking with Cinderella.  Ending the reel with a love song, THE love song that will change the course for Bon Jovi.

As she's sitting at her editing machine, she's startled by the ring of the telephone.  Reaching over, snatching it up she says, "Hello?'

"How are you coming?"  she hears her sexy long haired Italian husband on the other end, "Do you have much more to do?"

"Hey babe.  No I'm about done.  What are you doing?" Jon can hear her smile, he can hear that she's happy.

"Are you getting it together alright?"

"Oh yeah, I have great footage and this doc is going to hit the roof.  Your fans will want more."

"Well, I was gonna grab a cab and come over there, is that okay?" he asks, wanting to see her and wanting to see what she has put together so far.  "Or I can wait until your done."

Monica giggles, "No no, come here,  That's fine.  But do not pick at my work.  It's not finished."

"I didn't think you would get it all done today."

"If you come here and see it, remember that it's not finished."

"Okay.  I'll grab a car and be there soon.  Do you want me to grab you a slice or anything?"

"A slice and a Tab would be great babe, thank you."

Jon can't help but smile.  He loves when she calls him babe.  "I'll see you soon."

"Okay, come in the back door, I didn't open the front."

"Ok.  I love you."

"Ditto."

They hang up and Monica gets back to what she's doing.  She knows that her biggest critic is going to be there soon and she needs for something to be ready for him to see.  She quickly grabs the reels and a tape from the last show that they played and complies some still images of Jon, in no shirt running around like a crazy man during that show.  The last show of the tour always gets the best show and Monica had cameras everywhere in that arena.  The footage was unbelievable, the guys were tight and they were on fire.

She recorded Only Lonely one night with just a hand held camera.  She made herself at home and went where ever she needed to to get the best shots of the 5 of them.  She's amazed at the footage that she got of Richie, Tico and Dave.  Alec tended to walk away when she would point the camera in his direction, so she gave up on him.  The others played to the camera with funny faces, big beautiful smiles and were just all around fun.  

But when she put the camera on Jon, standing there at his microphone, the images she captured of him were raw and pure.  She can see the emotion that he's feeling with the words that he was singing.  She couldn't take the camera off him.  She feels a little turned on as she watches what she captured,  what she captured in her husband that was a rare thing to see.  She goes over that song, back and forth, back and forth and then decides that that song, Only Lonely would open her documentary.  She wanted the fans to see that footage first because she thinks that that is some of her best work.
