In the arms of her big brother, Monica says, “He’s so good to me; I just love him to death.” She can’t help but smile, “Why couldn’t I have met him before now?”
“It wasn’t your time.”
The door quickly opens and Jon says, “If we’re going to do this, we have to do it now. The cops have been called.”
Without being told to stop, the technicians at MTV studios continued to set up for a show. As soon as they were able, they plugged in and turned on. The crowd went crazy when Alec hit the makeshift stage, and the craziness got worse with each member stepping out into view – until Jon went out. He hung back for a couple of minutes, giving the crowd time to settle, having no idea what would happen once he walked out. He kisses Monica, grabs his Takamine and steps out the window, up over the crowd. The place goes crazy, making Jon smile from ear to ear. He looks over his shoulder at Monica and that makes him smile even more. She was jumping up and down with just as much excitement as he had.
They start playing Runaway, as they see the first cop car approach. The crowd is loving it, MTV is loving it. It’s such a great event for everyone involved and it just writes another page in the Bon Jovi history books. Bon Jovi managed to play Runaway, She Don’t Know Me, Only Lonely and half of Silent Night before the New York City police department shut them down. They needed to shut down and come inside on their own, or the police department would bring them in and take them to jail. Jon, being the front man and the band’s name sake told his guys that they were done and needed to get inside. After several minutes of a long goodbye, the band left the makeshift stage and climbed back in through the window where they were greeted by three of New York’s finest. Jon was handed a ticket for performing without a permit and inciting a riot. He’s laughing with it in his hand when he finally makes it to Monica. As fast as he can, she’s in his arms, “What did you think?” he asks, right before kissing her.

As fast as he can, she’s in his arms, “What did you think?” he asks, right before kissing her.
“It was great! What a rush. How was it for you being over all them people, wait, being over all of those girls.” She smiles, kissing him this time. “You’re an amazing performer.”
“Thanks. It was fun.” Jon looks around for his band mates, needing to share the excitement with them too. With his arm around Monica, they head off to find the rest of the guys so the y can leave.
They meet up with them in MTV’s green room. They each have a hot young thing with them, until Jon enters the room. As soon as Monica sees the surge of estrogen, she takes a few steps back and gives Jon the space that he needs to be famous. She wiggles her way back toward Richie; he needs some comfort as the chick he wanted to bag just ran off and attached herself to Jon.
The craziness goes on for a little while longer. The band had an interview to do with Martha Quinn, and when they were done with that, they would be free to go. It was tough to get all 5 to sit still long enough for an interview; they know that there are people outside wanting to see them. The high is pretty high until Jon is asked a personal question that he warned them not to ask.
“Jon, so tell us, are the rumors true? Are you and Monica expecting?” Martha has a smile on her face right up until Jon stands up.
“That’s it. Interview is over.” Jon makes a motion to his guys to follow him, and they do. Not because they were told too, but because they agreed with why he was doing it. They all feel the same way that he does. Their private life is just that, their private life. How could MTV have been so silly to allow that to happen?
Bon Jovi leaves MTV studios with a bittersweet feeling. They made MTV history, having a blast the entire time – up until Martha and her mouth. As they left out the back door, they get their first glimpse of true fame. The crowd surrounds them, making it very difficult for them to get into their cars. The girls that swarmed paid no attention and no respect to Monica. Jon and Richie shielded her and got her through the chaos. Her hair was pulled and she was struck a few times, making Jon say, once they are in the car, “Never again without security. Never.” He looks at Monica, “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” She says, straightening herself out, “That was wild.”
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Richie questions, “I saw the one pull hard, with a handful.” Monica reaches up and touches the spot that he’s talking about.
“I’m fine, it’s a little tender, but I’m fine.” She feels a hand reach around her and she falls into the man that’s holding her. Jon kisses her head, making her smile.
“That will never happen again, that’s bullshit.” Jon blurts.
“Those chicks are crazy.” Tico kind of chuckles, “Sorry we couldn’t get through there faster, Monica.”
She smiles at T, “Will you guys stop, I’m fine.”
“Wasn’t that the most fun you have ever had?” David can’t contain himself. “To play over a New York City Street like that was unreal.”
As the car crawled through the mob of fans, the band and Monica talked about the experience and then the subject took a quick turn, Alec, always being the Debbie Downer asks Monica, “Are you going on the road with us, after what just happened? Being in your condition and all?”
Monica scowls at him, knowing that he’s trying to pick a fight, but she can’t for the life of her figure out why? “Alec, it’s a pregnancy. Why wouldn’t I?”
“Look at what just happened.”
Richie fells the need to talk now, “Didn’t you hear Jon? We will add security. We have too, we can’t walk through that all the time. That was scary as fuck.” He nods his head one time, as if he was putting a period at the end of his statement.
“So we’re going to add an expense for a pregnant girlfriend? That makes no sense.”
“Why are you being such an asshole? If I didn’t know better, I would say that you’re jealous.” Tico jabs at Alec. “She’s pregnant and WE need security. It’s an added expense for all of us.”
“What is your problem with me, Alec? It seems like from day one you have opposed mine and Jon’s relationship. What did I ever do to you?” Monica asks him, really wanting to bury whatever hatchet is between them.
“Nothing.”
“Then why do you fight me every step of the way? Why does it feel like you don’t want me around?”
Alec leans forward in the seat, wanting his point to be heard by all. “I have a problem with YOU being the only person that can travel with us.”
Monica laughs, “Seriously? That’s what this is about?”
“Yeah, it pisses me off.” He’s quick to respond.
“What? Do you want Liz to go with you again? You know THAT isn’t happening. EVER!” Jon blurts at him, “If you hook up with someone that isn’t a bitch like her, I’ll welcome her with open arms, but it looks to me at this point that I’m the only one with a stable relationship. THAT is how she’s able to go.”
“That’s bullshit.”
Richie could see a little of what Alec was saying and needed to get it out there, “So let’s see if we have this right, we can’t have a girl with us unless it’s a relationship?” he cocks his eyebrow while he looks at Jon.
“Yeah. I don’t want to pay for you to get laid, for you to have a one nightstand in every town that we go to.” He tries to explain, “I don’t want the money that we make to be wasted on the expenses of a chick that you will never see again.”
“I think we should be able to do what we want with our money. No offense to you Monica,” Dave looks at her, “But you didn’t ask us if we wanted to pay for her.”
Monica can see where this could quickly go, it was right then that she figured out what Alec was up to. “Hey guys, I’ll make this easy for you. I’ll stay home so no one has to pay for me.”
“That’s not what we want, Monica.” Tico replies.
“I don’t want to get all of you into a fight, it really isn’t worth it. I’ll stay home and wait for Jon.”
“I think we should make it a rule, no one takes a woman unless she’s a wife.” Alec fluffs his feathers and thinks that he has quashed the problem, smirking at Jon.
“I think that’s a great idea.” Richie says, “But Jon and Monica are having a baby. That makes them more than married.”
“That’s okay Richie. I’ll just stay home. We don’t need the bullshit about it all.”
Do we hear wedding bells just to piss off Alec?
