Chapter 61 - These Friends Will Be Friends Forever

"You Mr. Bongiovi are a force to be reckoned with.  Wow.  That was pretty mean." Monica laughs as they walk out of MTV's studio.

They hit the street and it's full of people, an energy that you can only find in New York City.

"Well, I didn't like her questions." he tells her, pulling her into him, "I'm a private person, I hope you know and understand that.  I don't want my business out there for everyone to know."  He kisses her, parting her lips with his tongue.  Monica falls into him and lets the passionate kiss take control of her thoughts and her feelings.

When he's done, she gains her stance, "I know that Jon.  I understand what you did, I just think there was a better way to handle it."

"Doesn't matter now, it's over."  He starts to walk away.  She smiles at him and jumps on his back.  He grabs her legs and holds her on, walking down the street with her on his back.

In his ear, she says, "What do you think they will report about walking out like that?"

"Hopefully they get the word out that I won't talk about my personal life and any potential business dealings."  Monica kisses his cheek.

"What are we doing now?" she asks, as she is being walked through the city on her boyfriends back.  "Are we heading back to Jersey?"

"What do you want to do?" he responds.  He didn't care what they did, as long as they did it together.  "Do you want to go to the PowerStation and say hi?"

"I don't care.  You decide."

"Let's get a cab and run over there.  I need to book some studio time."

"Okay.  You can put me down you know."

"I don't want to."

"Can we hail a cab like this?" she jokes, as he steps out into the street and gets them a cab.

At the PowerStation, Jon was able to book some serious studio time.  The guys needed to get in there and lay some tracks, and soon.  They needed to get back out on the road - it's calling them.  When they were finished there, they made their way back to New Jersey.  It was getting later in the day and they needed to have a late lunch or an early dinner.  When they get into Monica's neighborhood, she reaches over and asks Jon, "Let's go get some of your things, so you can officially move in."

"You want to do that now?"

"If not now, then when?  You just booked a ton of studio time, you're pretty booked starting this weekend."

He winks at her, 'We can go to ma's and pack some of it up.  I haven't even done that." he tells her feeling like a bum.

"Babe, you haven't had time.  Let's go at least get it packed so one day we can move it all."

"Are you sure that's what you want?"

"YES!" without hesitation she answers.  "We're having a baby and have a life planned together, of course I want you with me."

"What happens when I'm a super famous rock star, we're going to have to move." he reaches over and squeezes her leg.  He loves being with her, regardless of what they were doing.

Monica can be a smartass too, "When you're a super famous rock star, we can keep my house for a getaway." she made herself laugh.

"We could."

Pulling into the driveway of his parents house, he can tell that no one is home.  The back door is closed and Matt isn't playing in the driveway.  Jon was glad no one was there.  He knows that when his mom sees that he's going to leave the nest, she won't take it well.  He's her first, and he is her favorite.  He's dreaded this day for quite a while, but he knows that he wants to be with Monica.  He's sure ma will understand and in time, she will accept it.

They go up to his room, the first time that Monica is seeing it.  She looks around, just to look but she sees a picture of him and Liz sitting on the top of his dresser.  She picks it up, turns to him and asks, "Is she really as crazy as I think she is?"

He walks over and looks at the picture that she has in her hand, "In the beginning, she wasn't bad.  A little possessive, but as time went on and I got more involved with my music, it was almost like she went off the deep end."

"Deep end?"

"She would follow me, bother my parents and my friends, she would show up at work and cause a scene.  She just went coo coo, and when I found out that she cheated on me, I wanted nothing more to do with her.  THAT made her extra crazy."

"Do you miss her?"

"Hell no!"

"She's pretty, I'll give her that."  Monica admits, not wanting too, but she says it like she sees it and doesn't say it if she doesn't mean it.

He takes the picture from her hand and drops it in the waste basket, "Yeah, she's pretty crazy."

Monica sits on his bed and looks around and watches Jon as he gathers his important and personal things, including all the guitars and music related items.  He's putting stuff in suitcases, guitar cases and duffle bags.  When he thinks that he's packed enough, he stand up and says, "This will do for now.  I'll take the guitar cases and the duffle bag now."

"Are you sure that's what you need, all that you want to take right now?"

He looks around and thinks for a moment, "I should get my bathroom stuff, huh?"

She smiles and shakes her head yes, "Unless you want to smell like me all of the time."

Once he's grabbed his bathroom essentials he tells her, "Let's go."

"What's your hurry?" Monica questions, seeing that he was a little bit antsy.

Sitting next to her on the bed, he tells her, "This is going to break my mothers heart.  I wanted to get in and out before she got home."

"John Francis, that's your mother."

"I know and I know how she's going to act."

"Heartbroken because her golden child is finally leaving the nest?"

"I am her favorite." he gets up, "Come on, let's get out of here."

She stands up and does a look over, to see if she could see something that he may have missed.  It looks like he's grabbed what he may need for a day or two.  She reaches out to take the duffle bag and he looks at her like she is crazy.  "I can carry a bag."

"I got it.  You don't need to carry a heavy bag."

With pursed lips she tells him, "I'm pregnant, not handicapped.  Give me a damn bag." She extends her hand.  He concedes defeat and hands her the guitar case full of clothes, the lighter of the 3 bags.  "Thank you."

They put the stuff in the car and went to 'their" house.  All the bags were in the house and Monica dragged them to the bedroom while Jon called Richie and the guys.  Monica wanted them all to come over for dinner if they could, volunteering Jon to cook on the grill.

Jon ran to the store while Monica did a little prep on the steaks that she pulled out of the fridge.  She washed potatoes and wrapped them in aluminum foil, poked  holes and was really looking forward to her grilled baked potato.  She whipped up some salad greens, adding tomato and cucumber and tossed it with a fine vinaigrette.

Jon went on a beer and Jack run, as the guys trailed in, they all made their way into the backyard and the 6 of them had the time of their lives.  It was just the band of brothers and their awesome photographer/videographer.  The 'family' was together and they had no interruptions, it was a night of bonding and a night of writing.  They got into their zone and all of them were in a place in their lives that they were happy with.  The sky is the limit for all of them.

  2. Oh Mama B isn't going to be happy. But she knows she has to let go. Hell her son did knock up his girlfriend!

  3. I love how well Monica fits in with the band. She accepts them just as they are. Very rare.
