Chapter 40 - It's Lights Out

 

 

 

"Let me introduce you to everyone and then we'll head to our room.  I'll explain it all there, okay?" he asks her, wanting to tell her everything - but he needed to take care of business first. 

 

He waited for a break in conversation between Robin and Steven and introduced Monica, "Guys, this is the love of my life, Monica.  Monica, this is RATT." 

 

The guys look her up and down and Steven says, "Damn, they grow nice in New Jersey.  That one that Alec is with, she was hot in a trashy way." 

 

Monica says, "She is trash." and laughs.  She can't believe that she is standing there talking with the members of RATT.  She is a huge fan and is super proud that Jon was on tour with them.  "How was the show?" She looks at Robin.

 

Robin admits, "I think the chicks like Jon better than any of us.  There were a lot trying to get backstage when they were done and before we went on.  Joe was right in sending extra security."  That made Monica smile, her boyfriend was wanted by thousands but he was here with her.

 

Richie walks up and sees Monica, they hug.  "Hey baby girl, how are you?  How was Chicago?  Did you get good pictures?" He kisses her cheek, "I missed you, how long are you with us?"

 

"As along as you guys want me around." she tells him.  She wants to be with Jon every second possible, but she couldn't let her love, her lust for him get in the way of her dream.

 

"What were you taking pictures of?" Steven asks her, curious.

 

"I photographed a few shows for Bruce in Chicago."

 

"No shit!" he replies.  "He's my hero."

 

"Yeah, I did a few shows for an album cover and tour pictures.  It was a lot of fun." Monica confesses, "It was the best experience."

 

Monica can see Dave and Tico in the corner talking so she walks up to say hi.  They both give her a hug and express how glad that she was with them now. And that made Monica wonder, "Why are you glad I'm here?"

 

David, without hesitation says, "That crazy bitch was driving us crazy.  With you here, she'll leave us all lone now.  What did you think of her?"

 

She points back to the hallway where Liz and Alec had disappeared to, "Is that THE Liz that I've heard about?"

 

Tico nods, "Yep, that's her."

 

Monica laughs.  "She thought she was going to create trouble for Jon and I.  Stupid wench."

 

David says, "I seen her trying to work her witchcraft, and you held firm against it.  Good job."

 

"She's nothing."

 

Tico says good night to them and takes his leave.  Dave isn't far behind, so when she was done talking to them, she hooked back up with Jon, who was talking to Steven.  When he seen her coming, he asked her, "Are you ready for bed?"  Monica simply nods.  Jon thanks Steven again for the great opportunity and he and Beth leave and go to their room. 

 

Both bands are in their rooms and all is good in the world, almost.  Jon has to explain Liz to Monica.  He knows that she is going to be upset, but he also knows that she will believe what happened.  She is not there because he invited her, she is actually there against his will - but will she believe that?

 

They dropped their bags when they got into their room.  Monica didn't even wait for him to turn around, she just asked, "Why is she here and why didn't you tell me?"  He can hear a little fire in her voice, and it's cute. 

 

He turns around and starts with,  "When I got to the airport, she was there with Alec.  I had no idea that they were even seeing each other."

 

"How long is she going to be around?" she snaps

 

He shrugs his shoulders and says, "Until she pisses me off enough and I send her packing.   I can't tell Alec who he can date."

 

"I agree, but does she have to be on the road with him?" she sits down on the foot of the first double bed.  She's looking around for the ashtray, when she sees it, she leans over and grabs it from the nightstand.  Digging in her purse, she takes out her cigarettes and lights one.  She looks at Jon.  He was lost in watching here.  "Well?'

 

He shakes his head a little, "Well, what?"

 

"Does she have to be on the road with him?"

 

"Honestly, she has just as much right as you do, being his girlfriend - but obviously this situation is a little different.  I think she's here and I think she calculated this to try to get back into my life."

 

"I do to.  So what are we going to do?  Richie cant stand her and I think she's trash."

 

"I do too, but she with Alec.  I can't decide who she dates, he's a member of my band and I respect his relationship only to the aspect of that he likes her.  If she pisses me off too much, I told everyone that she is gone - she can get her ass back to New Jersey."

 

"Can I ask why you didn't tell me about her on the phone last night?" she's a little upset by that fact, but she's pretty sure that she knows why.

 

Jon takes a seat next to her and takes her cigarette from her hand, hitting it he tells her, "I didn't want to tell you over the phone."

 

"That's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure." she takes his hand, "I wish you had told me.  I didn't like being caught off guard like that."

 

He lowers his head, "I know, I'm sorry - I just didn't want you to worry before you got here."

 

She turns to him and cups his face in her hands, "Jon, I trust you.  You can tell me anything, where ever I am or where ever you are."  She leans in and kisses him.  "I'll deal with the groupie tomorrow."

 

"I need a shower, care to join me?" he asks her, he feels pretty gross after playing a long set and then the travel.  He wanted a shower, a bed and Monica in his arms.

 

They get their things and take a shower.  When they get out, Jon was thinking of that aquarium in the lobby and asked, "Who's feeding Sampson now?"

 

"Wow, that was random." she laughs at it, "My mom and dad are."

 

"That's good, I didn't think about that until now."

 

"He's good."  She takes her towel off of her head and towel dries her hair.  Flipping it up she asks, "How many dates are you out here on the road?"

 

"Two weeks, and then home for a few days before we head over seas I guess.  I don't have all the details yet.  Tomorrow they are filming our set for a video, can't wait."  He rolls his eyes. 

 

Monica slides her panties on and as she does that he has to ask, "Do you really need them?"  She looks at him and he's smiling at her.  That makes her smile.

 

"I'm pretty tired." she admits.

 

He has to confess too, "So am I, but baby, I want to hold you naked.  I have thought about that since you left."

 

She lets her panties fall to the floor and she jumps onto the bed.  "Do you want to watch TV?"

 

"I just want to hold you.  We can watch TV if you want." he tells her, he would love nothing more than to fall to sleep with her in his arms.
