Chapter 2: The Beginning After the End - Danger. In all the wrong places

Dating for months, inseparable and adventurous, John and Liz knew the world was theirs to take. Heading into the city on a Friday afternoon wasn't out of the norm, it was almost a ritual. Jon wanted to go into the city to have a drink and listen to some music. Some loud music, the South Side Johnny and the Asbury Jukes were getting boring.  He wanted to go into the city and see something different. And he wanted Liz with him. Jon loved riding the subway. He loved people watching. He enjoyed fashion and style, he just wasn't one to follow the trends. Long hair and tight jeans was Jon's style and Liz loves it. The tighter the Levi's, oh so much the better. Jon was partial to the jeans, cowboy boots, bandanas and cut off t-shirts. And he pulled that Jonny Bongiovi look off. Long, light brown curly hair, held in place with half a can of Aqua Net and earrings made Jon very desirable to Liz.

Elizabeth Johnson was a 21 year old typical Sayreville girl. She was so in love with Jon and she knew they would be together forever. She had a part time job working as a waitress in a sports bar. She was an excellent waitress and her tips were proof of that. She knew she was going to be Jon's forever girl, she was just unaware of how her love for him would be tried.

They made it to Times Square and got off the train to just walk around and take in the sights, the sounds and the smells. New York City was always full of energy and color. Bright lights, bright displays and bright people.

Walking passed a street performer Jon and Liz stopped to listen. Jon was impressed. A few moments later, Liz grabbed his hand as to tell him let's go. Jon dropped a few dollars in the guitar case and the guitarist said, "Hey, thanks man.". Jon nodded as they walked away. Pumped by what he just heard, he started acting silly. Picking on Liz and singing the song he had just heard. Liz laughed. When they stopped at a cross walk, Liz cuddled up to Jon and bit his lower lip. Jon liked that and grabbed her and pulled her close. Embracing her, he reached down and gave her a kiss. A kiss so passionate, a tourist standing next to them in a joking fashion said, "Get a room kids." Liz was obviously embarrassed and Jon knew it, so like a night in shining armor Jon said, "She deserves better than that."

The crosswalk had not yet gave the all clear to walk, but when in New York, do as the New Yorkers do. The crowd merged and started to cross, Jon and Liz followed suit. Walking around with no final destination in mind, they 'ended' up at the Hard Rock Cafe. Jon had Liz's hand and kinda pulled her in. Unaffected by all the tourists, he just led Liz downstairs. When they got down there Jon spotted a table and they went and sat down. Looking around Liz spotted a sign that said David Bowie was playing and got excited. She excitedly tapped on Jon's hand, "Jonny, David Bowie is playing!!" Jon looked at her and smiled, thinking one day girls would look at him like that. David Bowie, an Industry icon, was playing a small show supporting his Let's Dance album. Jon and Liz both loved the album.

Jon knew Bowie was playing tonight, that was news he heard at work yesterday. He was not surprised that Liz didn't know. Liz liked and listened to easy listening artists.  David Bowie wouldn't be played on her stations, so it's not likely she would have heard he was playing a small, semi-private event. This was Jon's Valentines Day present for Liz. He loved her and couldn't imagine life without her. He knows he needs to show her the perks of being famous and connected. He had to get her out of Sayreville!

Earlier in the year, Jon had the opportunity to get a demo tape out on the airwaves. He was very excited by that and couldn't wait for it to get out there for everyone to hear. He has the talent, he has the look and luckily for him, he had a cousin that owned a recording studio. Anthony Bongiovi, owner of the PowerStation in NYC, employed Jon as a gopher over the summer. Between bar gigs and Liz, Jon managed to record a demo. He also had the opportunity to meet many celebrities and some even remembered his name.
His demo is going to be part of WAPP's Homegrown Talent compilation album and Jon can't be more thrilled. But with that excitement comes a little bit of sadness. Sadness from the fact that his girl of 17 months doesn't support his ambition, his life goals. He was going to be a rock and roll star, he was going to go far.

The show that Bowie put on was good, but Jon wouldn't call it great. Seeing the look on Liz's face when he came into the audience and let her sing Let's Dance with him made the show perfect. He couldn't have asked for anything more. Liz was a giggly school girl after that. Walking back to the train, hand in hand, Liz said, "What an incredible show, how many girls can say they SANG with David Bowie?" He was happy, when she was happy. That may not have been a dream come true for her, but it's a moment she will never forget. Closer to the subway, Jon grabs he hand a little tighter, looking at her he says, "My song was picked for the compilation album and is being put into radio rotation, starting Monday. It's also entered into a contest of best homegrown talent." As soon as he got those words out of his mouth, he held his breath and waited for her response. He didn't think it would be a good one. His hobby, as Liz would call it, is quickly becoming her reality. She didn't know what to say, so she mumbled, 'That's great! When is the contest? Do you have to play?" He didn't know what to do with her reaction. He just told her that his song was going to be played on the radio. Maybe she didn't hear that? "Babe, did you hear me say my song is going to be on the radio? On WAPP'S, this could be huge." She lets go of his hand to pass through the turnstile , looking back she says, "No one listens to that radio station." His heart dropped. "What are you talking about? Everyone listens to it!", walking into the subway car, looking for a seat away from everyone. Jon knows this ride home isn't going to be a good one. For the first time he is really seeing how little, how insignificant his music career is to Liz.

"Jonny, what are you expecting from your song being on the radio?", she asks - with no idea the impact this could have on her. Sitting all the way in the back of their car, and alone - he reaches over, rubs her leg and says, "It could change our lives. It can get us out of Sayreville." She laughs and says, "Why would we want to leave Sayreville?" He knew it was a subject he needed to drop. He doesn't want to ruin what could be the best night of her life, so far. She just sang with David Bowie after all. The train pulled away from the platform and they both just looked out the window, in silence. He was still caressing her leg and she was really starting to like it. She grabbed his hand off her thigh and kisses it and said, "I really do love you." He grabbed the back of her head and pulled her to him. He kisses her with passion, lacking. She responded to his kiss in a way she hasn't done before. Was it Bowie that put the fire in her kiss? They kissed one another and fondled one another until there was a break in the subway. The train came to a stop, and so did they. Liz giggled and said, "You're going to get us in trouble" while Jon still rubs her leg - teasing her, making her think he might go higher. She grabs his hand to stop him and he says, "What's a little danger?" Jon takes his finger and traces the outline of her face, circling her mouth. As if he was tracing a bullseye. He leans in an kisses her, just a peck and says, "I adore you." Kisses her again and again.  The remainder of the subway ride consisted of lots of kissing and heavy petting.  Jon could feel the excitement from deep within and couldn't help himself.  He wanted to be WITH her, in her - part of her and he knew deep down she wanted it too.  "We're on the subway??", he thought.  He made a valiant attempt at running his fingesr up her back, very smooth, he was able to undo her bra.  Rubbing her back, he slides his hand around front and cups her right breast in his hand.  She jerks back and the look on her face tells him that he really should stop.  The two of them have been intimate on many occasions and this wasn't uncharted territory for them.  Jon knew not to over think it, unsure he reached around her and reconnect the strap on her bra.  Gently kissing her neck and speaking softly in her ear, "I'm sorry I got a little out of hand, I just find you so damn sexy.  Happy Valentine's Day, baby."  He sat back and looked at her, the look on her face left him even more puzzled.  She had on her face, a smirk he'd not seen often - but he's seen it before.  He sat back and let out a small sigh.  Watching as they passed buildings, cars and people on the street - he couldn't help but think, 'I'll be so glad when we get out of here.'  Looking back at Liz, he smiles and she smiles, then she grabs boths sides of his face and starts kissing him like she never has before.  Jon immediately got into it and pulled her over onto him, she straddles him and they continue swapping spit.  Liz stops kissing long enough to ease her self back off of Jon to reach down an unbotton his pants.  He sits there in amazement, watching every move she makes.  Once she gets the button open and the zipper down, she only needed to help his man business out a little bit.  He was ready and more than willing for whatever was about to happen.  He grabs her and kisses her, reaching up her Madonna skirt and starts pulling her panties down.  She wispers, 'We can just pull them off to the side.'  She scoots upcloser and her gently guides her down on his hard and throbbing man business.  She lets out a slight sound indicating it may hurt a little and  Jon just keeps kissing her, distracting her from little bit of discomfort she may be feeling.  This whole time, Jon thinks 'Oh my God, we're on the subway.'  For several minutes the two of them are going hot and heavy.  Finally, the two of them reach 'heaven' together and melt as one.  They know that they need separate and put themselves back together. He holds her face and asks her, "What's a little danger?" She kisses his forehead and slowly eases her self off of Jon. They then gather themselves and ride in silence the rest of the way to the South Amboy train station.
