Chapter 41 - Good Girl Monica...

 

 

 

They all converged on the continental breakfast location and filled their trays.  The band was at a table, along with Monica.

 

  Liz was still sleeping.  The 6 of them sat there and laughed and joked and talked about the set list that they would play tonight.  They had a few disagreements, but after talking them through - they have a set list that is sure to please.  They were just about done with breakfast when Liz emerges in a revealing nighty that even embarrassed Richie.  David blurted out, "Liz, cover up.  There is food here."

 

"Fuck you and good morning to you to Dave." she snaps back, with no class or couth.  "I am dressed fine for breakfast, ain't I Jon?" and she has a look on her face that was the first straw for Monica.  "You loved having breakfast with me when I wore this, although we never ate....food."

 

Monica stands up and takes a step towards Liz when she is stopped by Richie.  "Get out of my way Richie, this bitch needs to be put in her place."

 

Jon steps in and says, "Alec, she is out of here TODAY.  I am done with her bullshit and she doesn't need to embarrass us like this.  Whatever you have to do, she is not getting on that bus tonight and she WILL NOT be backstage - am I clear?"

 

Alec says, "Liz, come sit down and eat.  I'll get you on a bus somehow back to New Jersey."

 

"Bullshit.  Why do I have to leave?"

 

Jon jumps up, "Look at you, you look like a whore and talk like one too.  And while you're still here, let's tell Monica what really happened and let's tell her the last time we were together."

 

"Tell her what?  That you were a poor excuse for a boyfriend and a terrible lover, so I had to fuck one of your friends while you were gone?" Liz takes a deep breath, "She'll do that too, since you are so inexperienced and not a very good lover at all."

 

Monica heard enough.  Within seconds, she swung over Richie and connected with Liz in her right jaw.  No one knew how to react, except Richie.  He couldn't help but laugh, Liz was decked by Jon's girlfriend.

 

"What's the matter Monica?  Are you afraid that he's going to come back to me, because he will.  He always has."

 

"Liz, STOP!" Alec screams.  "Go back to the room and pack your shit.  I'm getting you out of here."

 

"Jon doesn't want me to leave, Alec - you know that."

 

Monica still in arms reaches, reaches up and slaps Liz across the face.  She hit her so hard that she spun around on her feet and fell toward Dave.  Dave caught her from falling to the floor, but once her momentum stopped, he laid her on the floor.  "Liz, you better leave before Monica kicks your ass."

 

"I'm done with this stupid bitch.  She's made me stoop to her level and I won't do it again." Monica states, "She is a worthless piece of shit and I won't waste another second on her."  Monica looks at Jon, "I'm finished eating - the smell of the skank has ruined my appetite, I'll be in the room."  Monica grabs her bag and head down the hallway. 

 

Jon looks at his band mates, "She needs to get gone and we need to get ready for set up and sound check." he grabs his journal off the table and his cigarettes, "We can head to the arena in about 2 hours.  Please be ready."  And he turns to leave. 

 

Behind him, he hears Liz say, "He's an asshole."

 

Jon laughs and says, "Only to you.  Get out of Cleveland, Liz and leave us all alone.  You are last years trash."  And he disappears down the hall.

 

Tico, bummed that the show is over, gets up and heads outside to smoke a cigarette away from the craziness.  He's too old for this drama shit.

 

Dave heads to his room and starts to prepare for tonight's show.  He needed to call home and touch base with his girlfriend.  She wanted to travel with him, but he didn't allow it, even though everyone loved her.

 

Richie sat there and enjoyed the Alec and Liz show.  He can see that Liz is pissed that Monica decked her twice and no one stood up for her or tired to stop it. And Richie laughs because she thought that someone might?  Yeah, no!

 

Alec was able to get with Ratt's travel planner and they have Liz on a greyhound that leaves just before the show.  While Alec and Liz were in their room, she had the nerve to ask Alec, "Does this mean that we're done?"

 

"I can't be with you.  You cause too much tension in the group and before I let him kick me out, I'll send you home first.  This is all that I've got.  You can go back home to whoever."  he watches Liz's bubble deflate.  She was sure that she would remain on tour and make it as hard on Jon as she could.  She vowed revenge when he broke up with her and rejected her.  She would get even, somehow.  She's just bummed that Jon now has a strong girlfriend and Liz needs to rework her plan.

 

Liz is on the bus and Alec is on his way back to the stadium.  As he's ushered in the back door, he is floored by the amount of people that he seen in the stands already.  They are in an arena that hold about 50,000 people and it look pretty full.   He's pumped, excited and a little scared.  He makes his way to the bands dressing room.  Jon asks, "Is she gone?"

 

"Long gone."

 

"I'm sorry about kicking her out Alec, but she was nothing but trouble.  She wasn't bringing anything positive to you, to us - she needed to go."

 

"I know, Jon.  It was the only thing to do.  She's gone.  I'm sorry that I didn't know that she was THE Liz."

 

"She's a fucking nightmare."

 

Richie adds his two cents, "She was comical, but yeah - she needed to go."

 

Jon's nerves are growing as the time draws near to show time.  He looks to Monica, "Do you want to stay back here or do you want a seat?"

 

"UM, a front row seat, silly." she reaches up and flicks his nose. 

 

"Let's go see what I can get you." he takes her hand and they head to try to locate the VIP pass lady to see if he could get one for Beth. 

 

As they stand there and wait, Steven from RATT walks up and asks the newby, "Is everything okay?"

 

Jon shakes his head yes and says, "I'm just trying to see if there is a seat up front for Monica."

 

"Of course there is."  Steven puts his arms around them and leads them to the stage.  Standing at the end of the stage, he points to a roped off area and tells them, "The seats in there are ours.  Monica, pick any one of them and it's yours."

 

"Thank you!" she replies, "I'm here to take Bon Jovi pictures, would you like me to snap a few of you guys too?"

 

Steven, with a nice smile on his face says, "That would be wonderful.  I hear your work is pretty amazing.  I'd be honored if you did."

 

"Not a problem."

 

"Okay, I'll leave you two love birds alone.  Are you ready for sound check Jon?"

 

Jon nods his head and starts to get excited.  "As ready as I will ever be."  He starts with the little jumps that he does and smacks a few walls.  He is ready to hit the stage, give 100% during his show and then laying down to sleep with Monica.  He needs Monica, he wants her to know how much he loves that she stood up for him, that she stood up for him.

 

Cleveland was a sell out, with the fans loving the new boy band a little more than they did RATT.  When Bon Jovi left the stage, the chanting and the foot stomping got so loud, Steven ushered them back on stage and they did an additional 3 song encore.  She Don't Know Me is a fan favorite and it's Monica's too.

 

Shows is over for Bon Jovi and they did what they did the night before.  Packed their gear on their bus and headed to Chicago for a 2 night stay.  Jon is on cloud 9 knowing that he gets to play Chicago for 2 consecutive shows and that Monica would be at his side.

 

Jon and Bon Jovi were on the road to success and it runs along side by side with Jon and Monica's road to success.  It won't be too long and those roads will cross.
